User Interface and User Experience. A short Description and its advantages for beginners
In this story, I will be explaining to you the user interface and user experience in a simple way and how it will benefit you. This explanation is mainly about them who are new in this field or planning to learn designing and front end coding.
What is the meaning of user interface and user experience?
When you observe something and find it interesting. You decide to monitor its end to end feature and go deep into that thing. The same way User Interface and User Experience works.
Today User Interface and User Experience is trending like anything. Because everyone wants that people should visit their website or download their mobile apps to grow their business fast and keep them engaging. This is why UI and UX have become the most popular in the world today.
Let us know about User Interface (UI) first.
The look and feel of your Mobile App or a Web page is your User Interface.
For example, Imagine a theatre full of crowds have come to watch a movie. Before the movie starts there are too many ads running on the screen. People start shouting to start the movie and end these ads. This was the first obstacle that the crowd faced. When the movie started the content of the movie was worthless. People started walking out before the interval. This was a major problem in the film.
The same case occurs in User Interface. When you design for example a mobile app. It should be simple, clean, and appealing. People should get an interest in your app. If there is confusion or found your app boring, they will uninstall the app.
The right way of doing is to
- Select proper color themes, do not use multiple colors
- Use simple fonts and not more than three fonts.
- Create a prototype workflow.
- Refer to some good designs. See what's trending.
- Create something unique that you have never done before.
Remember, this is the first step when you start any project and is very important.
Now let us know about User Experience (UX).
The flow of your Mobile App or a Web page from start to end is your User Experience.
For Example. Suppose you are traveling from Point A to Point B in a car. The road is very narrow and crowded, and anyhow you have reached half of the road and have got stuck. What will you do? Either you will find some other road or you will go back.
The same case happens in User Experience. If someone is surfing on your website, web portal, or mobile app. and gets stuck somewhere or is not understanding your site. The person will immediately leave your site and will get to some other website which is simpler and easy to understand.
The user should be able to know that on what page he/she is going to land, on the next click. Also the clicks matter of your site. If the user finds too many clicks on your site, he/she will not come back on your site again.
The right way of doing is to
- Understand the requirement.
- Refer to the workflow given to you. If not then create a workflow.
- Use the latest technologies tools
In both UI and UX too much of brainstorming is required before doing any design or coding. Both are depended on each other
Advantages of UI and UX.
Customer Acquisition:
Client experience and configuration gives you an upper hand. They will probably overwhelm costs as key brand differentiators that attract new clients.
Customer Retention:
By building an application that is simpler to understand, more people will want to use it, and all the more significantly, continue using it and upgrading it with new technologies.
Lower Costs:
A planned application just works. If the application is inadequately structured, there will be an expanded requirement for preparing, documentation, and training which converts into greater expenses.
Reduces Development Times:
Too much time is spent redoing work to fix mistakes that could have been avoided. Also, the user gets stuck on a particular page by redoing changes again and again. If proper discussion like walkthrough, wireframe, etc are done correctly before the project starts, lots of time will be saved.
Also, an important point that your User Experience coding should match your User Interface design as I had explained in my previous story.
That’s all folks. Hope you have enjoyed the story.
I will come up with more stories soon.
